How a PoC differs from a build

The point is the answer, not the product. The prototype is how you get to the answer.

What you can rely on

Five things we will not move on, in any engagement.

These are not stretch goals or marketing claims — they are operational rules that govern every PoC we ship.

  • Day-1 ownership

    Source code and intellectual property are yours from the first commit. The repository is created inside your GitHub organisation, not ours.

  • NDA before tech

    NDA and DPA are signed before any technical discussion — including the free initial assessment. Idea-only conversations are also under NDA.

  • Daily transparency

    Slack updates every working day. Real-time visibility in GitHub. Day 4 mid-report. No "wait two weeks and see" delivery model.

  • $5K cap on failure

    If the hypothesis is invalidated, you owe $5,000 and you have a written report explaining why. There are no overage charges. Failed PoCs are part of the contract.

  • Honest no-go

    If on Day 4 we believe the idea will not work and additional weeks cannot save it, we will say so. Continuing to bill is not in our long-term interest or yours.

What if the PoC fails?
You lose $5,000 and gain a clear technical answer. That is one-tenth of a typical $50,000 full-build estimate. The validation report tells you whether to pivot, narrow the scope, or stop entirely — and we will write the honest version, even when it is not what we would have preferred to write.
Does the $5,000 really roll into the MVP?
Yes. If you continue to MVP Development, the full $5,000 PoC fee is deducted from the MVP invoice. There is no separate voucher, no expiry, and no fine print — the amount simply comes off the next bill. This is the strongest trade-in credit across all our services.
Do you really finish in 10 business days?
Yes. AI generates roughly 70% of the prototype (boilerplate, mock data, scaffolds, common screens), and engineers spend the time on the 30% where the actual technical risk lives. We have a Day 4 mid-report so the direction can pivot before it is too late, and a Day 9 internal review so the Day 10 demo is not a surprise.
Who owns the code?
You do, from the first commit. Repositories are created inside your GitHub organisation, not ours — so there is no "handover" step at the end. Same rule applies to documentation, datasets, and any infrastructure templates.
What if our scope is unclear?
That is exactly when a PoC is appropriate. If the question is "can this be built at all?" — go with a PoC. If you already know what to build and just need it built, Sprint-in-a-Box is usually cheaper and faster. If you are not sure which, choose "Not sure yet" on the form and we will recommend.
