QA Engineer / Software Tester (Manual & Automation)

Location: Full Remote (Malaysia-based) Experience: 2–4 years
About the Role
Ensure the quality and reliability of software applications for Japanese clients. Perform manual and automated testing, identify bugs, and work closely with development teams to deliver high-quality products that meet Japanese quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts
- Develop and maintain automated test suites (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium)
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing
- Identify, document, and track bugs using Jira or Azure DevOps
- Conduct API testing (Postman, REST Assured)
- Test web and mobile applications across devices and browsers
- Create detailed test reports and quality metrics
- Collaborate with developers to resolve issues
- Ensure applications meet Japanese quality standards
Required Qualifications
- 2–4 years of QA or software testing experience
- Strong manual testing skills (functional, regression, UAT)
- Experience with test automation frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium)
- Knowledge of testing methodologies and best practices
- Proficient in writing test cases and test plans
- Experience with bug tracking tools (Jira, Azure DevOps)
- Basic programming skills (JavaScript, Python, or Java)
- Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
- Good communication in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Japanese language proficiency (N3 or higher) — plus
- ISTQB certification or equivalent
- Experience with API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI)
- Knowledge of performance testing (JMeter, k6)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience testing applications for Japanese markets
- Mobile testing experience (iOS, Android)
- Understanding of accessibility testing
